Book Blog (out of America) "Rot and Ruin"

"Rot And Ruin" By: Jonathan Maberry (464 pages)

Rot and ruin is about when the zombie infestation takes over the United State and everywhere else on the planet at least thats what the people in the book think because there is absolutely no way to know for sure. People can pay zombie hunters go out and find relatives that are now zombies to "kill" them ( their already dead but like make it to where they are actually dead like not a zombie). Each zombie these hunters kill they get a profit. Everyone lives in cities, the cities have tall fences the surround the whole city to keep the zombies out. The infection started on the "first night" the main character Benny's parents were turned on the "first night" giving him a hatred towards zombies like most other people in the community until Benny's older brother Tom (zombie hunter) explains how it actually is that all the zombies were once people. Before Benny learns the truth about ever thing he is amused by Charlie and Hammers Story's of how they killed zombies in such. After Benny learns the truth is he going to take the family job of zombie hunting or leave that to his older brother?
So, in my opinion this is an amazing book there is so much going on and its never boring. The is conflict man vs. self & man vs zombie (i don't know what category that would be considered because zombies are people but their not alive so, what category would you think?). Anyway this book has so much going on and i love it because it has so many things that make you think like when Benny's brother Tom is explaining to Benny about how zombies were once people, and how its still not right even though their dead to torture them like how Charlie and Hammer do, and how these zombies were once part of someone's family it really changes perspective. In the start of the book I was thinking like Benny, "why don't they just kill the zombies?" but after tom said those things it really made me think different about the whole thing. Anyway its amazing and i definitely think if you like fast pace books with lots of action you should read it.

The Legacy of the Black Plague

The legacy of the Black Plague

Assertion:The legacy of the Black Plague is the abuse of religious power done by the Catholic Church.
Evidence: The Catholic Church had to find new ways to make money due to the Black Plague and the lose of money being made by he church, therefore making unethical choices. "Church abuses to raise cash: fee's for any services, and sell indulgences, dispensations, and church officials."(Black Plague flow chart).
Commentary: The church abusing their power in order to receive money caused people to doubt religion when before religion was the major part of everyones lives. The doubt in religion gave smaller rankings the chance to challenge the church and lower the power that the church has on society (Smaller ranking being royalty or nobility). The church losing power made them take desperate measure even making unethical practices to raise money for the church them doing so made people lose trust in the church. The church for the first time didn't have complete power over society because people doubted the truth of the religion.

9/11 and Black Plague Comparison/Contrast

The Black Plague and 9/11 could be considered both similar and therefore different. Similar being the effectance on society meaning the devastation that the many deaths of both situations. Another similarity would be the terror that society felt knowing that they were no longer safe. Both 9/11 and the Black Plague were a big deal in history meaning we're still talking about them today we have over come a lot and learned many things from both situations they might not have been positive things but we learned how to deal with them and find a cure/solution for both.
The Black Plague and 9/11 could also could not be any different being one was a terrorist attack and the other a widely spread disease, also 9/11 killing about 3000 people and the Black Plague killing about 50% of Europe. The attack on 9/11 had been planned by a terrorist group called al-Qaeda, not one person had planned the Black Plague it was not necessarily an attack on any certain group or country there wasn't someone trying to prove a point by infecting/killing half of Europe like how the al-Qaeda group attacked and killed 3000 Americans. As most can see they are both similar and different but both 9/11 and the Black Plague will be remember'd for the thousands that lost their lives.

Today's Meet

Today's meet was really fun we should do this more often. The only thing i would do differently is make the tweets more accurate to the story like some didn't even make sense!
