13 Reasons Why (Book Blog)

13 Reasons Why by: Jay Asher is the saddest but best book ive ever read.
This book is about a girl who has been bullied her whole life to the point where she commits suicide but before she does she makes 13 tapes each deticated to a specific person talk about all the things that they had done makeing her want to end her life. After she commits suicide there is one copy of the tapes and it gets passed from one person to the next if they have any part in her death. So when  on person if done with the tapes they have to give it the next person. So basically she made it where the people that made it where she wanted to kill her self had to live the rest of their life knowingly that they made someone so miserable that they ended their life.
genre- Realistic fiction

  1. Why did you think it was sad? It made me mad. I thought she was rather selfish -- not only blaming others for a decision she made (and I'm not saying they weren't blameless, but you can let things that happen to you rule your life or you can take control of those things and choose to rise above them), but for acting as though she had no control over anything and this was the only thing she could do. It is a thought-provoking book. Part of what you need to do in this blog is not only give a summary, but also talk about what you think. So, what do you think? You said sad. Why?

  2. Okay, so just now seeing this and this book is sad because they put her through so much she would rather be dead than alive. It wasnt a choice it was more like a best option in her mind, its not like she could ask them to stop and they would she didnt just one day choose to end her life like all these things led up to it. She didnt choose to live this life she was forced into it. Avoiding something like that wouldnt be easy when everyone knows and uses it against you. Obviously some people cared about her and wanted her around but it didnt compare to the ones who started romours and didnt want her around, she made the choice that hurting the those who did want her around would be less pain than suffering through all the nasty and unessasary things that were happenig to her. If these things were to happen to you and you ended up ending your life would you want people to why or would you rather them just think you did it for no reason? if it was me i would want those people to know what they could have done tot stop it that they could have done somethiung to stop her from ending it all. These people would alwayas have to live with the fact that they are part of they reason she is gone they cant take these things back not its to late. This book is a great leason for those who have bullied someone or even started a romour, these thing do effect people in every way and sometimes you dont know what that person is dealing with. So yes this is my favoreite book ive EVER read because this book is actually REALalistic fiction these things actually do happen and yes it is sad.
